Description: Macro view of a beautiful blue winged butterfly. This is a bit of an abstraction of a butterfly wing, but you do not have to work too hard to understand what the image represents. Such an amazing creature! Stay by me awhile. . . let me admire you.
I love the way the colors turned out--it has cool blues, but balanced by the warmer coppery tones of the butterfly's body and also the neutral sagey greens in the background. I am amazed and mesmerized each and every time I am honored by the presence of a butterfly--so I wanted to try to convey that emotion that I feel when I see one fluttering about.
This is a good size piece--great decorating size. It is interesting up close with the subtle lines and texture, and then looks great from a distance because of the large shapes and saturated colors.
Title: STAY BY ME AWHILE
Dimensions: 20"H x 16"W x 1-3/8"D. Sides are painted a rich chocolate brown with a bit of bronze metallic mixed in for very subtle shimmer. Wired and ready to hang in your home.
Colors: Soft cobalt blue, mid-toned blues, spa blue, charcoal gray, blue-greens, metallic renaissance gold, warm earthy browns.
You'll notice dripping paint, built up texture and soft marks made by watercolor pencil.
